Don’t take another bite!

Yum! You just took a bite of a 200 calorie chocolate chip cookie. Now to burn it off, you need to walk a half-mile at 3 mph, and that’s not the whole cookie – that’s just the bite!

  • If you eat the whole cookie, get ready to walk 2 miles, or to save time, jog 1.5 miles.
  • A 4″ chocolate chip cookie has 14 g of sugar, 10 g of fat, and only 2 g of protein.
  • It has as many calories as 3/4 pound of mixed vegetables, and almost as many as two beers!

ps – these numbers are accurate for a 200 lb man. They will vary based on things like weight, how fast you go, and what went into the cookie.

    Thanks Jo for this blog. I find this post a very good warning to anyone who is fond of eating cookies and other pastries. This is very informative, health wise. I myself is now properly cautioned. I can share this health info to people around me. Keep it up and more power!!!

      You’re welcome. It’s really helpful to think of food in terms of exercise and to realize how much it takes to work off a simple cookie or piece of cake. That’s one reason to exercise regularly. It’s insurance against gaining weight.
